Join The Women’s Land Army

Motivational Tin Sign: The brave ladies of the Woman’s Land Army (WLA), affectionately known as ‘land girls’, were responsible for keep the agricultural industry going during the First and Second World War. This charming tin sign is host to a recruitment poster encouraging women to join the force and be part of this fantastic National Service. Featuring planes flying over head, we are reminded that this was not a danger free job, the threat of attack was ever present and these brave ladies continued to work the land regardless. Many posters like this were produced to encourage women to join the land army in this time of need, some sporting slogans like, “God speed the plough and the women who drives it”.
